I am trying to get closer to God.

Today, people are more into the glitz and the glamour of everything. We don't even read the inside of records anymore.

We've always just gotten up there and played. We don't have any dancers, we don't have all that stuff going on, we just get up there and play.

I've lived my life dealing with everybody. And that's how it's always been for me.

The thing I love about acting is that it's got nothing to do with me; it's about bringing forth a director's vision. It's like a release. I'm glad it's come back into my life.

Everything that I make I use.

Later on in life I was like, "Wow!" because that's exactly how it was. They don't care that you're mixed. They see you as one color.
