When I start a new seminar I tell my students that I will undoubtedly contradict myself, and that I will mean both things. But an acceptance of contradiction is no excuse for fuzzy thinking. We do have to use our minds as far as they will take us, yet acknowledge that they cannot take use all the way.

But where, after we have made the great decision to leave the security of childhood and move on into the vastness of maturity, does anybody ever feel completely at home?

If I have something I want to say that is too difficult for adults to swallow, then I will write it in a book for children.

Dare I? Of course I don't. But I'm going to anyhow because I have no choice.

And joy is always a promise.

I believe that consistently we need to look for good, and not for evil, that when we look for evil we call up evil, while heaven comes closer when we acknowledge it.

Because we fail to listen to each other's stories, we are becoming a fragmented human race.
