When I first moved to New York I wanted to be a dancer, I danced professionally for years, living a hand-to-mouth existence.

I used to believe in the pretty pictures that were all around me, but now I know for sure that I was stupid.

I do think that the birth of my daughter was sort of a rebirth for me. It made me look at life in a completely new way. And that made me appreciate life in a way I don't think I ever had before.

Do everything you're told. Be a good cheerleader. And never, never say, 'It's not so bad.' Say 'You are almost there!' And say it a lot.

I'd like to think I am taking people on a journey; I am not just entertaining people, but giving them something to think about when they leave.

I am because we are. We all bleed the same color. We all want to love and be loved.
