First, the federal government, one of the fundamental responsibilities that it has is to protect the nation's health and wellbeing. And this [Zika virus] is a threat to public health in the United States. It is a very serious disease.

Both of my parents were born into poor families on the island of Cuba. They came to America because it was the only place where people like them could have a chance.My father was a bartender. And the journey from the back of that bar to the [election 2016], to me, that is the essence of the American dream.

The No. 1 issue in the Hispanic American community is 'How do I leave my children better off than myself?

Imagine if we didn't have a President traveling the world bad mouthing America....that's the UN's job.

The truth is, the greatest tool to lift children and families from poverty is one that decreases the probability of child poverty by 82%. But it isn't a government spending program. It's called marriage.

You know what the fastest growing religion in America is? Statism. The growing reliance on government.

I haven't thought about aspirations for the future. I like politics, I like serving the public, and we'll see if God offers us another opportunity in the future.
