You have to deal with the reality that in the political process, people are going to vote based on what they're hearing from their constituents and others.

For over two centuries, each generation of Americans before us confronted and solved problems. They embraced opportunities and Americans have never had it easy. This was a nation founded by declaring independence for the most powerful empire in the world. This was a nation that faced a divisive and bloody civil war, two great world wars, a long cold war.

This president [Barack Obama] is undermining the constitutional basis of this government. This president is undermining our military. He is undermining our standing in the world....The damage he has done to America is extraordinary.

I really - as I said, I wanted to be President of the United States. It didn't turn out that way.

USA Freedom Act did, however, take away a valuable tool that allowed the National Security Agency and other law - and other intelligence agencies to quickly and rapidly access phone records and match them up with other phone records to see who terrorists have been calling.

There is nothing that we are allowed to do under USA Freedom Act that we could not do before.

I'm not interested in being Donald Trump or anybody else's vice president, that's not what I'm aiming at.
