Our options oftentimes on foreign policy are not a choice between a good one and a bad one. It's a choice between two less-than-ideal options. And you're trying to figure out which is the least harmful of the two. And I think that's something we should be encouraged by, not something that we should be critical of.
Marco RubioThat is, I think that what I do, that democracy in Venezuela hasn't really worked well since the [Ugo] Chรกvez era and that it has gotten even worse since the last elections, in which the Maduro government lost control of the House, of the country's legislature.
Marco RubioAnd so, whether they came here on the Mayflower, on a slave ship, or on an airplane from Havana, we are all descendants of the men and women who built here the nation that saved the world.
Marco RubioConservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them the tools at their disposable that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. And our programs to help them should reflect that.
Marco RubioWhen I'm president of the United States, we're going to have a VA that cares more about our veterans than about the bureaucrats who work at the VA.
Marco RubioIf you got to [abortion] centers, young women are provided very few options, in many places they're not told anything about, for example, adoption services that may be available to them. The idea that, in essence, you come in and it's already pre-determined, this is what place this place does. It provides abortions, and we are going to channel you in this direction.
Marco RubioOur government does not exist to decide the rights, nor to grant them. Our government exists to protect them. And that is why we have a constitution that limits the power of the federal government to a few specific, but important things and we have abandoned that. We have abandoned it in both political parties.
