Vex not thy spirit at the course of things, they heed not thy vexations

That which makes the man no worse than he was makes his life no worse: it has no power to harm, without or within.

The soul is dyed by the thoughts. Dye it then, with a continuous series of such thoughts as these - that where a man can live, there - if he will - he can also live well.

When you have done a good deed that another has had the benefit of, why do you need a third reward-as fools do-praise for having done well or looking for a favor in return.

Dig inside. Inside is the fountain of good, and it will forever flow, if you will forever dig.

Observe the movements of the stars as if you were running their courses with them, and let your mind constantly dwell on the changes of the elements into each other. Such imaginings wash away the filth of life on the ground.

Life is short. Do not forget about the most important things in our life, living for other people and doing good for them.
