I walk away from him. It's enormously pleasing to me, this walking away. It's like being able to make people appear and vanish, at will.

All I have to do is sit on the floor and cut frying pans our of the Eaton's Catalogue with embroidery scissors, and say I've done it badly.

That is what you have to do before you kill, I thought. You have to create an it, where none was before.
