A lot of people don't think about it, but the Bible has every horror element that you can imagine. It's got the devil, the Antichrist, Lucifer, and Satan - which are four different characters. It's got the end of the world. You've got zombies, giants, demon possession, a lot of murder.

Jesus is a half-naked guy, hanging, nailed to a cross, and then people wear that around their neck, and then those are the people that are upset about violence in movies.

Ultimately, because I'm an artist, I can't ever consider myself a nihilist, so I suppose I'm optimistic.

God will grovel before me, God will crawl at my feet.

I'm everything they are afraid of. Everything they hate. Everything they try to hide and a lot more. Besides, I speak my mind and show people what's out there in reality.

It's my job to be the Pierrot, the clown, in the theatrical sense.

I think people have always misinterpreted my self-destructive nature as nihilistic, because if you don't care about the world, you can't create art. I am misanthropic and self-loathing, but never nihilistic. And I think I act far worse off-stage than onstage.
