What I would like my legacy to be is that of a person who took good care of her family and sang some songs that made a difference in some way. I hope I'll be remembered as somebody who was always down to earth and who handled her career and other people with honesty, integrity and class.

I love to sing with great singers.

I grew up singing in Kansas. My dad had a band when I was growing up. So I sang in church and school and started singing with his band when I was seven. So I've been singing all my life.

I love to read about healthy eating and preach to my husband, who doesn't listen. Now I'm trying to teach it to my daughters.

I am happy that women can relate to my songs, and hopefully men can too.

I've been on stage since I was five years old and I feel really at home there.

Not only do I know how to milk a cow, but I know how to herd a bunch of cows, too, which is a life skill that I think may come in handy someday.
