What peace can they have who are not at peace with God?

If God and his grace do not rule us, sin and Satan will have possession of us.

Grace in the soul is heaven in that soul.

If ill thoughts at any time enter into the mind of a good man, he doth not roll them under his tongue as a sweet morsel.

Those will soon come to make nothing of God that will not be content to make him their all.

It is not fit the public trusts should be lodged in the hands of any, till they are first proved and found fit for the business they are to be entrusted with.
