If you are dating someone famous, you tend to be seen as part of a couple, rather than as an individual. But you can't help who you fall in love with. It's unfair when your career suffers - which mine did - simply because of who you're going out with.

Acting can be a difficult business. When I was younger, if my mates were doing better than me, I might be a little bit envious, but as I have got older, I love to see actors cracking on and succeeding. The same goes for writers.

I appreciate some people enjoy reality TV and enjoy being a part of it - and I do watch it - but it isn't for me.

Id be lying if I said Hollywood wasnt still an ambition; its everyones, isnt it? Youre getting paid very well, youre working with great actors and great directors - who wouldnt want to be a part of that? But its not going to break my heart if it doesnt happen. This business is about doing good work rather than how famous it makes you.

As an actor, you've got to maintain a bit of mystery and at least part of your private life, otherwise the game is up.
