There is something about keeping Him divine that keeps Him distant, packaged, predictable. But don't do it. For heaven's sake, don't. Let Him be as human as He intended to be. Let Him into the mire and muck of our world. For only if we let Him in can He pull us out.

God has forgiven you; you'd be wise to do the same

Do you purchase the first tree you see? Of course not. You search for the right one. You walk the rows. You lift several up and set them down. You examine them from all angles until you decide, This one is perfect. You have a place in mind where the tree will sit. Not just any tree will do. God does the same.

Here's what I really love: I love a funny story that I can tag a serious line on the end of.

I think a story is an attention grabber. I think it's a truth conveyor. Those are two great features of a good story.

Jesus tends to his people individually. He personally sees to our needs. We all receive Jesus' touch. We experience his care.
