The best way to show your gratitude to God and people is to accept everything with joy....We may not be able to give much but we can always give the joy that springs from a heart that is in love with God. All over the world people are hungry and thirsty for God's love. We meet that hunger by spreading joy. Joy is one of the best safeguards against temptation.

Where was Mother Teresa's Jesus? He was in the Bible, in the church, in her prayer, in the Eucharist, in her sisters, in the heart of everyone she met, and especially in the poorest of the poor and the lowest of the low. Jesus was in disguise in each one of them. Jesus was behind the foundation of her order. Jesus was behind all that she did.

Each of us is merely a small instrument; all of us, after accomplishing our mission, will disappear.

We do not strive for spectacular actions. What counts is the gift of yourself, the degree of love you put into each of your deeds.

I will never tire of repeating this: what the poor need the most is not pity but love. They need to feel respect for their human dignity, which is neither less nor different from the dignity of any other human being.

One thing that I ask of you: Never be afraid of giving. There is a deep joy in giving, since what we receive is much more than what we give.

The family that prays together stays together, and if they stay together they will love one another as God has loved each one of them. And works of love are always works of peace.
