We are taught from the very first moment to discover Christ under the distressing disguixe of the poor, the sick, the outcasts. Christ presents Himself to us under every disguise: the dying, the paralytic, the leper, the invalid, the orphan.

Where does love begin? In our own homes. When does it begin? When we pray together. The family that prays together stays together.

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

Holiness consists in doing God’s will joyfully. Faithfulness makes saints. The spiritual life is a union with Jesus: the divine and the human giving themselves to each other. The only thing Jesus asks of us is to give ourselves to him, in total poverty and total self-forgetfulness.

The simplest way of becoming his light is by being kind and loving, thoughtful, and sincere with others: 'By this they will know that you are his disciples.'

Let us not love by words alone, but let us love until it hurts.

Suffering can become a means to greater love and greater generosity.
