So, this is my government's agenda: educate your daughter and save your daughter.

Democracy is our commitment. It is our great legacy, a legacy we simply cannot compromise. Democracy is in our DNA. I have seen the strength of democracy. If there were no democracy then someone like me, Modi, a child born in a poor family, how would he sit here? This is the strength of democracy.

I believe that solution to all problems is in development. Development is also the solution to the tension that people talk about.

Nobody wants to remain poor. Those who are poor want to move away from poverty. That is why, all our programmes must be for the poor. All our schemes must serve the poor.

We will form an army of poor, where every poor will be a soldier and we will win the war against poverty on behalf of their strength.

In this land of the Ganga (Varanasi), there was education of culture. But, more importantly, there was a culture of education.

Education does not mean knowledge (gyan) only, it also contains a life within it; it is not an arrangement, it is a duty. It is not merely a means of livelihood; it is the precious treasure of the noble tradition of giving, bestowing.
