I see Lord Buddha in the 21st Century across national borders, across faith systems, across political ideologies, playing the role of a bridge to promote understanding to counsel patience and to enlighten us with tolerance and empathy.

Whatever position we may rise to, be it of MP, CM or PM, nothing can teach us the way villages can.

I challenge the challenges. I like to face the problems. I don't run away from them. Whatever loss I have to face it, I face it.

We have to see that all regions of India, particularly the east and west, are brought on par in development parameters.

Our mission is skill development. There can be no development with a satiated system.

Small acts can drive reforms. What appears minor can actually be vital and fundamental. Generating 20,000 MW of power attracts a lot of attention. That is important. At the same time, 20,000 MW of power can be saved through a people's movement for energy efficiency. The second is more difficult but is as important as the first. Small indeed, is beautiful.

My first warning is to my government officers to not presume citizens as thieves.
