Itโs a New Year and with it comes a fresh opportunity to shape our world. So this is my wish, a wish for me as much as it is a wish for you: in the world to come, let us be brave โ let us walk into the dark without fear, and step into the unknown with smiles on our faces, even if weโre faking them. And whatever happens to us, whatever we make, whatever we learn, let us take joy in it. We can find joy in the world if itโs joy weโre looking for, we can take joy in the act of creation. So that is my wish for you, and for me. Bravery and joy.
Neil GaimanMay your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.

Neil GaimanAdults follow paths. Children explore. Adults are content to walk the same way, hundreds of times, or thousands; perhaps it never occurs to adults to step off the paths, to creep beneath rhododendrons, to find the spaces between fences. I was a child, which meant that I knew a dozen different ways of getting out of our property and into the lane, ways that would not involve walking down our drive.
