I've learned over the years that everything is more or less the same amount of work, so you may as well set your sights high and try and do something really cool.

Sometimes an old idea gets relegated to the back of the line in the mad delight of a new idea, one you've never had before, and that you write fast in the thrill of the new. No rules. Just stories, and you tell as many of them as you can.

We do not always remember the things that do no credit to us. We justify them, cover them in bright lies or with the thick dust of forgetfulness.

It's still National Library Week. You should be especially nice to a librarian today, or tomorrow. Sometime this week, anyway. Probably the librarians would like tea. Or chocolates. Or a reliable source of funding.

Nearly' only counts in horseshoes and hand-grenades.

Finish what you're writing. Whatever you have to do to finish it, finish it.

I liked myths. They weren't adult stories and they weren't children's stories. They were better than that. They just were.
