People don't normally change when things are going well. But I want to see what's next and keep moving. That keeps things fresh.
Neil YoungI have so many opinions about everything it just comes out during my music. It's a battle for me. I try not to be preachy. That's a real danger.
Neil YoungWe live in the digital age and, unfortunately, itโs degrading our music, not improving it Itโs not that digital is bad or inferior, itโs that the way itโs being used isnโt doing justice to the art. The MP3 only has 5 percent of the data present in the original recording. โฆ The convenience of the digital age has forced people to choose between quality and convenience, but they shouldnโt have to make that choice.
Neil YoungMost people think it's the other way around: that time is going faster and we're doing less. But really time seems to be going faster because we're cramming so much into it.
Neil YoungA lot of people that buy vinyl today donโt realise that theyโre listening to CD masters on vinyl and thatโs because the record companies have figured out that people want vinyl, And they're only making CD masters in digital, so all the new products that come out on vinyl are actually CDs on vinyl, which is really nothing but a fashion statement.
