For most of the rise of modern medicine, the brain was a really unknown zone and was all based in guesswork. Well, that's all changing. And the opioid recovery is a very good example of the scale of change we're seeing.

We're at the crossroads. Down one road is a European centralized bureaucratic socialist welfare system in which politicians and bureaucrats define the future. Down the other road is a proud, solid, reaffirmation of American exceptionalism.

So I'd be quite happy to have a three-hour Lincoln/Douglas style debate with Barack Obama. I'd let him use a teleprompter. I'll just rely on knowledge. We'll do fine.

My fine friends who are perfectionists, each in their own world where they are petty dictators, could write a perfect bill. Those of us who have grown up and matured...understand that we have to work together on the big issues.

On the battlefield of ideas, winning requires moving toward the sound of the guns.

Leadership matters and solving things before a crisis is important.
