I don't mind being naked.

I’m always interested in films that are about extreme subject matters.

As a child, my whole life was books. They were my fantasy. That's where I could go. That was a lot of times [what] saved me.

[As a producer] [Big Little Lies] is the stories of women that I know, and it was a way in which we could go to other women and say, "Here's a great role. There's five great roles here. They're all complicated. They all deserve to be told, and are you interested?" And that is rare.

I've always loved the drama and the creating of a role and performance and all that comes with that, but I then also kind of like to have just the white picket fence life if that makes sense.

I want to be with people I really like. I don't want to be working on things with people that I'm not happy to be there [with].

I'd rather walk a tightrope than have my feet on the ground.
