There is a social responsibility to take care of vulnerable people. It seems that a sensible social responsibility is obligatory education, but also decent education, and that is not happening.

That's what they wanted sent to Palestine for colonization and for the eventual conflict that took place some years later. It is not a step towards democracy; rather it constitutes a 'crisis of democracy' that must be overcome.

The one state/two state debate is irrelevant as Israel and the US consolidate Greater Israel.
