The greatest measure of a human being isn't how he handles himself when things are going well, but how he handles himself when things are going badly, when defeat comes.

Check what you did right and don't get lost in basking on your glory. It will make it easier to repeat whatever you did that created the success.

I was brought up on the romance of American achievement. No matter where you start, if you work hard and if you think positively and if you dream dreams and if you have good character, you can lift the status of yourself, your family, your friends and everyone around you. This doesn't mean that your object in life is to become rich or famous. Just do the best you can with yourself. I think that Almighty God has put that into us and I'm going to do the best I can with myself. That's what I call the romance of achievement. Achievement means to be what, by the grace of God, you can be.

Medication is of course important but do not conclude that a pill dissolving in your stomach is necessarily more powerful than a healing thought in your mind.

Optimism, when applied to your life, develops strength and peace within you.

Never talk defeat. Use words like hope, belief, faith, victory.

Watch your manner of speech if you wish to develop a peaceful state of mind.
