There has to be solidarity among the artists, songwriters and all the creative forces within that circle in order for the necessary changes to take place and for each person to get what is rightfully due.

I will never forget Oprah's [Winfrey] major contribution to my success by having me perform on her show (March '91) and introducing me as, "the voice that brought her out of the shower!"

If there's something more awaiting me in the future, I'd rather leave it up to God since what He creates is far better than my imagination.

I've been fortunate to live a very full professional life. Most of it has happened through God's graciousness and not from something I've imagined.

From the church I received a spiritual foundation that has kept me balanced. From the gospel music I learned the importance of singing with emotion- authentic emotion- not contrived- which has made my music endearing.

Learn your craft well. Take care of your own business. Success (popularity) is fleeting for most, but longevity lies in a quality craft with integrity. Oh, and don't take yourself too seriously.

I have never stopped performing live.I've been blessed with the talent to sing and play the piano so I can fit into a lot of different configurations and venues. I play public and private performances and it has served me well. And I've been fortunate to work in Europe and Asia as well as The US. So for those who have not attended my shows, it doesn't mean I'm not performing.
