Imagine if your kids had to carry a ladder to climb an apartheid wall to get to school everyday.

Your true friends dont shy away from keeping you in check because your wellbeing is more important to them than even your friendship and they'd rather risk offending you than watch you harm yourself.

Kind words cost you nothing but are sometimes worth more than a million dollars.

Sometimes you wish you never met certain people, then you grow and realize that they were a gift in disguise and contributed to making you the person you are.

I tell people this over and over again: don't attach your faith to people. People will come and go. People will disappoint you. People will divulge dark secrets. People will turn out to be the opposite of what you thought. Allah is perfect. His Messenger (peace be upon him) is a perfect example, and the religion is a perfect methodology. Attach yourself to the principles instead of the people. That way no Shaykh going wild or role model going rogue will be able to shake your faith.

Sometimes being let down my a human being is the direct cause for you finding your own strength & depending only on Allah.

Positive thinking isn't ignoring life's problems, it's understanding that Allah can make a way out for you if you sincerely try.
