I don't think there's anything better you can do in this world than bring light wherever you go.

Difficulties come when you don't pay attention to life's whisper. Life always whispers to you first, but if you ignore the whisper, sooner or later you'll get a scream

If you are still breathing, you have a second chance.

Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.

I wasn't remembering the gift that God had given me. I had totally put all that aside. And my daughter was growing up before my eyes, and I just wanted to grab hold of that. It goes by so fast. I wanted to watch her. I wanted to be that parent - because at that point in time, I was a single parent. Watch her go to school, and when she got home, be there. I wanted that moment.

I'm black, I don't feel burdened by it and I don't think it's a huge responsibility. It's part of who I am. It does not define me.

The whole point of being alive is to evolve into the complete person you were intended to be.
