Faith, as the Bible teaches it, is faith in God coming against everything that contradicts Him- a faith that says, “I will remain true to God’s character whatever He may do.” The highest and the greatest expression of faith in the whole Bible is- “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15).

Keep your life in its constant contact with God that his surprising power may break out on the right hand and on the left. Always be in a state of expectancy, and see that you leave room for God to come in as he likes.

If through a broken heart God can bring His purposes to pass in the world, then thank Him for breaking your heart.

Am I learning how to use my Bible? The way to become complete for the Master’s service is to be well soaked in the Bible; some of us only exploit certain passages. Our Lord wants to give us continuous instruction out of His word; continuous instruction turns hearers into disciples.

There is only One Being who can satisfy the last aching abyss of the human heart, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are not to preach the doing of good things; good deeds are not to be preached, they are to be performed.

It is better to run the risk of being considered indecisive, better to be uncertain and not promise, than to promise and not fulfill.
