Through the years, I have discovered some essential principles in discerning God's will: First, by God's grace, we must be firmly committed to seeking first the Kingdom of God and His glory. Secondly, we must establish a life discipline of renewing our minds in the Word of God. Thirdly, we must seek godly counsel from mature believers. Fourthly, we must watch for signs of God's providence opening doors and closing them. Finally, we should consider the desires of our heart.

The Lord continues to empty us in order to teach us to lay aside all self-reliance, that we may cling to Christ alone.

A Christian is not somebody who stays away from all the wicked things he loves and clings to all the righteous things he hates so that he can go to heaven. The fear of the Christian is not going to hell. The fear of the Christian is being separated from Christ.

In that moment of salvation, of belief, they are opening their lives to the person of Jesus.

It is absurd to think that a man can believe in Christ, with his heart, and it not have a radical affect on the rest of his life.

How would you ever learn unconditional love if you were married to someone who met all the conditions?

How could we have such a low view of the gospel of Jesus Christ that we have to manipulate men psychologically to get them to come down and pray a prayer? …How many times have I heard evangelists say, “It’ll only take five minutes.”? No my dear friend, it will take your life–all of it!
