Abortion is not the lesser of two evils. It is a crime. It is to throw someone out in order to save another.

When we do not adore God, we adore something else. Money and power are false idols which often take the place of God.

The Church needs you, your enthusiasm, your creativity and the joy that is so characteristic of you.

If you withdraw into yourself, you run the risk of becoming egocentric. And stagnant water becomes putrid.

The world tells us to seek success, power and money; God tells us to seek humility, service and love.

Are we capable of bringing the word of God into the environment in which we live? Do we know how to speak of Christ, of what he represents for us, in our families, among the people who form part of our daily lives? Faith is born from listening, and is strengthened by proclamation.

Ask yourselves this question: How often is Jesus inside and knocking at the door to be let out, to come out? And we do not let him out because of our own need for security, because so often we are locked into ephemeral structures that serve solely to make us slaves and not free children of God.
