We ought never to lose hope. God overwhelms us with his grace, if we keep asking.

That is why the center of our faith isn't just a book, but a history of Salvation, and above all, it's about a person: Jesus Christ, the Word of God made flesh.

The confessional is not a torture chamber, but the place in which the Lord's mercy motivates us to do better.

The world is polarized. The middle class becomes smaller. The polarization makes the difference between rich and the poor big. This is true.

We too can be saints in our family, in our neighborhood, wherever we live and work. Be a person who listens to what people need, communicating not only to grieve or tell others about your own problems. Listen in order to intercede and help out.

We face so many challenges in life: poverty, distress, humiliation, the struggle for justice, persecutions, the difficulty of daily conversion, the effort to remain faithful to our call to holiness, and many others. But if we open the door to Jesus and allow him to be part of our lives, if we share our joys and sorrows with him, then we will experience the peace and joy that only God, who is infinite love, can give.

Let us learn to live with kindness, to love everyone, even when they do not love us.
