Lent comes providentially to reawaken us, to shake us from our lethargy.

We cannot sleep peacefully while babies are dying of hunger and the elderly are without medical assistance

Being a disciple means being constantly ready to bring the love of Jesus to others, and this can happen unexpectedly and in any place: on the street, in a city square, during work, on a journey.

Lent is a fitting time for self-denial; we would do well to ask ourselves what we can give up in order to help and enrich others by our own poverty. Let us not forget that real poverty hurts: no self-denial is real without this dimension of penance. I distrust a charity that costs nothing and does not hurt.

If we take the poor away from the Gospel, we won't be able to understand the whole message of Jesus Christ.

Dear young people, you have many plans and dreams for the future. But, is Christ at the center of each of your plans and dreams?

Our life is made up of time, and time is a gift from God, so it is important that it be used in good and fruitful actions.
