The proclamation of the Gospel is destined primarily to the poor, to those who often lack the essentials for a decent life. The good news is first announced to them, that God loves them before all others and comes to visit them through the acts of charity that the disciples of Christ carry out in his name.

Confession is the sacrament of the tenderness of God, his way of embracing us.

The only war that we must all fight is the one against evil.

The goods of the earth are meant for everyone.

Christian witness is concrete: words without actions are empty.

All of us benefit from remembering our past. A people which remembers does not repeat past errors; instead, it looks with confidence to the challenges of the present and the future.

Love is more powerful, love gives life, love makes hope blossom in the wilderness.
