To live coram Deo is to live oneโs entire life in the presence of God, under the authority of God, to the glory of God.
R. C. SproulThe sin of fallen man is this: Man seeks the benefits of God while at the same time fleeing from God Himself.
R. C. SproulFallen man is free to choose what he desires, but because his desires are only wicked he lacks the moral ability to come to Christ. As long as he remains in the flesh, unregenerate, he will never choose Christ. He cannot choose Christ precisely because he cannot act against his own will. His fall is so great that only the effectual grace of God working in his heart can bring him to faith.
R. C. SproulThis means that if a person fulfills his or her vocation as a steelmaker, attorney, or homemaker coram Deo, then that person is acting every bit as religiously as a soul-winning evangelist who fulfills his vocation. It means that David was as religious when he obeyed Godโs call to be a shepherd as he was when he was anointed with the special grace of kingship. It means that Jesus was every bit as religious when He worked in His fatherโs carpenter shop as He was in the Garden of Gethsemane.
