There is properly no history, only biography.
A sage is the instructor of a hundred ages.
Commonsense is the wick of the candle.
Too busy with the crowded hour to fear to live or die.
The moral sense is always supported by the permanent interest of the parties. Else, I know not how, in our world, any good would ever get done.
I wish to say what I think and feel today, with the proviso that tomorrow perhaps I shall contradict it all.
