England produces under favorable conditions of ease and culture the finest women in the world. And, as the men are affectionate and true-hearted, the women inspire and refine them.

Each religious sect has its own physiognomy. The Methodists have acquired a face; the Quakers, a face; the nuns, a face. An Englishman will pick out a dissenter by his manners.

Man is not a farmer, or a professor, or an engineer, but he is all. Man is priest, and scholar, and statesman, and producer, and soldier.

Some will always be above others. Destroy the inequality today, and it will appear again tomorrow.

There is no one who does not exaggerate!

Then, though I prize my friends, I cannot afford to talk with them and study their visions, lest I lose my own.
