You give up not meditating. It's called meditation action. There's no way out of it. Meditation means to be constantly extricating yourself from the clinging of mind.
The suffering is in the mind. The mind. In the mind. Witness it. From your spiritual heart.
You can't build joy on a feeling of self-loathing.
Until we know that we can bear the unbearable, we're always running scared.
