The alternative which I favor is to renounce all euphemisms and grasp the nettle of the word atheism itself, precisely because it is a taboo word carrying frissons of hysterical phobia. Critical mass may be harder to achieve than with some non-confrontational euphemism, but if we did achieve it with the dread word atheist, the political impact would be all the greater.

Cheetah genes cooperate with cheetah genes but not with camel genes, and vice versa. They are not working to save the cheetah from extinction like some molecular World Wildlife Fund.

My God is not improbable to me. He has no need of a creation story for himself or to be fine-tuned by something else.

Certainly science should continue to see whether we can find evidence for multiverses that might explain why our own universe seems to be so finely tuned.
