If there is one thing that, as a director, you don't want to be a part of, it's a group. It's the same thing with music. I don't want to be a part of a scene. Just leave me alone. It's just my nature, and it's nothing against the people that are in that group, but I just like to be left alone.
Rob ZombieSometimes, you just have to realize, I'm not doing stuff that is really mainstream stuff, and to try and put it out in a mainstream way is almost psychotic.
Rob ZombieWhy does everybody thing things are always contractual? I saw a shitload of questions and thought "better keep these answers short or I'll never get to all of these".
Rob ZombieI remember, especially like when I was in high school, going to see like Dawn of the Dead and it was like mayhem in the theater and you could barely even watch the movie. It was so fun.
Rob ZombieMy advice: Don't quit. When I got to New York City, I lived so far below the poverty line, because I didn't give in and get a job at 7-Eleven. I think you can thrive in misery.
Rob ZombieI was never really that aware of commercial things. The stuff that was really influential to me were bands like the Misfits or the Birthday Party, or things like that. If someone said, "Do you love Judas Priest?" - I never really even had a Judas Priest record. That's not what I grew up with. That wasn't really my scene, you know? That's why White Zombie never really fit. I still don't fit.
