Life itself is vanishing fast. Make haste for eternity.

Affliction brings out graces that cannot be seen in a time of health. It is the treading of the grapes that brings out the sweet juices of the vine; so it is affliction that draws forth submission, weanedness from the world, and complete rest in God. Use afflictions while you have them.

Learn much of the Lord Jesus. For every look at yourself, take ten looks at Christ. He is altogether lovely.

A glance at Christ will save, but it is the gazing at Christ that sanctifies.

We do not know the value of Christ, if we will not cleave to Him unto death!

If the veil of the world's machinery were lifted off, how much we would find is done in answer to the prayers of God's children.

Do not doubt the holy love of Jesus to your soul when he is laying a heavy hand upon you.
