We are going to put an end to the notion that the American taxpayer exists to fund the Federal Government.

Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed there are many rewards, if you disgrace yourself you can always write a book.

The time has come to turn to God and reassert our trust in Him for the healing of America - our country is in need of and ready for a spiritual renewal.

There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect.

America's view of apartheid is simple and straightforward: We believe it is wrong. We condemn it. And we are united in hoping for the day when apartheid will be no more.

Two visions of the world remain locked in dispute. The first believes all men are created equal by a loving God who has blessed us with freedom. The second vision believes that religion is opium for the masses. It believes that eternal principles like truth, liberty, and democracy have no meaning beyond the whim of the state.
