In fact, in the early days of the Republican primary, I was pointing to Governor [Scott ] Walker as the one guy who was demonstrating he knew how to fight back against the radical left and win! And he's tough, and he didn't shrink from it.

There is a route to the presidency in this country, and it's called the Electoral College, and both candidates base their campaigns on winning the Electoral College, not the popular vote. And in that pursuit, Donald Trump won in a landslide or near landslide. And in that pursuit, Barack Obama and his agenda was repudiated. And not just this year. In the 2010 midterms, the 2014 midterms, and this election.

Rights are either God-given or evolve out of the democratic process. Most rights are based on the ability of people to agree on a social contract, the ability to make and keep agreements.
