What incredible arrogance to believe that we limited human beings can destroy that which we cannot even begin to understand - much less create on our own - and that is earth and all of its glories.

In the case of immigration, there has never been a majority for any of the proposals put forth by either party - executive amnesty or whatever other plan there is - to essentially legalize them and make them voters. There is not the majority support for any plan that either party has put forward. It is a gigantic issue.

I don't care if you're talking about gay, straight, black, white, how in the name of hell can you guarantee that nobody will ever feel unwelcome? I have felt it unwelcome everywhere I've been in life. Everybody else has, too. I mean, not everywhere, but it happens.

The left think that America is a special place, but not because of anything the people here did to make it special. It just happens to be. And the people who were here are here simply by winning life's lottery. It's all fate; it's all luck. And if anybody else in the world wants to come to this one special place, then nobody has the right to tell them they can't because we are all immigrants.

Because the left, George Bush won two elections, 2000 and 2004. So 2008, we didn't see. It was obviously there. We saw effervescence and this bubbling up of this extreme left-wing cultural revolution, so to speak, but it seems like with the inauguration of [Barack] Obama, outward appearances, it seemed like the country flipped and did a 180 overnight.

[Nancy] Pelosi personifies this [Democratic] party's repudiation.
