Being on my own was liberation, it was liberty, it was freedom, it was responsibility! It was the greatest thing in the world, getting old enough to be on my own. And today we have to deal with the fact that being on your own is so frightening and so scary and makes you feel so vulnerable. I wouldn't be where I am today if I had that attitude, if I had been afraid to be on my own.

I had to learn early on that where conservatives are concerned, the truth about them is the last thing anybody wants to report. It's the lies and distortions, the mischaracterizations, the character assassinations, that people want to report.

There is not a single person in the media today that could wear Dr. Benjamin Carson's uniform, whatever uniform he puts on in a day, a business suit, if it's surgical scrubs, there's not a single member of the media that could do anything close to what Ben Carson has done with his life. But he gets - and he's not the only one - ripped to shreds, denigrated, destroyed, and for what? He holds to traditional values. He believes in morality. He is just a decent guy and he ends up a target for destruction. And he's not the only one.

It's very rare that you have a liberal run as an unabashed liberal. They have to lie about it. They have to mask who they are. And in order for them to survive and thrive, they have to keep that up.

We have already reprogrammed the way men are raised, and we have done that drastically, I think. That's what I mean when I talk about the chickification of everything.

The right seeks political victory at the ballot box - and that's just the way it's been. It's a bit cliched to say but the right, conservatives, work. They have jobs.
