Man has been naturally so created that it is advantageous for him to be submissive, but disastrous for him to follow his own will, and not the will of his creator.

God is more truly imagined than expressed, and He exists more truly than He is imagined.

For so it is, O Lord my God, I measure it! But what it is I measure, I do not know.

Where Scripture speaks of the world's creation, it is not plainly said whether or when the angels were created; but if mention is made, it is implicit under the name of "heaven," when it is said, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

Truth is not private property.

He was created of a mother whom He created. He was carried by hands that He formed. He cried in the manger in wordless infancy. He, the Word, without whom all human eloquence is mute.

He who created us without our help will not save us without our consent.
