Unhappy is the soul enslaved by the love of anything that is mortal.

Except he be willing, man cannot believe.

To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek him the greatest adventure; to find him, the greatest human achievement.

Hear, O God. Alas, for man's sin! So saith man, and Thou pitiest him; for Thou madest him, but sin is in him Thou madest not. Who remindeth me of the sins of my infancy? for in Thy sight none is pure from sin, not even the infant whose life is but a day upon the earth.

The soul is "torn apart in a painful condition as long as it prefers the eternal because of its Truth but does not discard the temporal because of familiarity.

Blessed is he who devotes his life to great and noble ends, and who forms his well-considered plans with deliberate wisdom.

Then assuredly the world was made, not in time, but simultaneously with time.
