There should be a stated day for commemorating the birthday of our Savior, because there is danger that what may be done on any day, will be neglected.

As the manners of nations vary, new topicks of persuasion become necessary, and new combinations of imagery are produced; and he that can accommodate himself to the reigning taste, may always have readers who perhaps would not have looked upon better performances.

People may be taken in once, who imagine that an author is greater in private life than other men.

Liberty is the parent of truth, but truth and decency are sometimes at variance. All men and all propositions are to be treated here as they deserve, and there are many who have no claim either to respect or decency.
