I'm incredibly flattered when people tell me that my books helped them through high school. Because of my own experience, the thought that something I wrote might help someone who felt the way I did when I was a teen...that's huge. It awes me.

It's never long distance between friends.

In school, writing was the only thing that really came naturally to me, but it wasn't until college that I realized that I could do it for more than just fun.

I'd been through so much, falling short again and again, and only recently had found a place where who I was, right now, was enough.

The only thing I can't stand more than seeing something done wrong is seeing it done slowly.

Like a blinking cursor on an empty page, it was just the first thing. The beginning of the beginning. But at least it was done.

Forgiveness is hard. Acceptance is doable.
