When we talk about fighting for our country, we're talking about our vote, our vote is our arms.

And Alaska - we're set up, unlike other states in the union, where it's collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs. It's to maximize benefits for Alaskans, not an individual company, not some multinational somewhere, but for Alaskans.

Don't retreat. Instead - reload!

Our opponent [ Representative John Lewis] is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country.

But listening to him [Barack Obama] speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state Senate.

Common sense tells us that the government's attempts to solve large problems more often create new ones. Common sense also tells us that a top-down, one-size-fits-all plan will not improve the workings of a nationwide health-care system that accounts for one-sixth of our economy.

I am all for contraception. And I am all for preventative measures that are legal and safe, and should be taken.
