The smallest decisions made had such profound repercussions. One ten-minute wait could save a lifeโฆ Or end itโฆ One wrong turn down the right street or one seemingly unimportant conversation, and everything was changed. It wasnโt right that each lifetime was defined, ruined, ended, and made by such seemingly innocuous details. A major life-threatening event should come with a flashing warning sign that either said ABANDON ALL HOPE or SAFETY AHEAD. It was the cruelest joke of all that no one could see the most vicious curves until they were over the edge, falling into the abyss below.

Nick started laughing. โOh man, this is priceless. Donโt tell me the great Acheron is a virgin?โ Ash gave him a droll look. โYeah, Nick. Iโm lily-white.

Sherrilyn KenyonI do know how to operate a computer. (Joe) Yeah, right. What was it you said just ten minutes ago? Get this damned thing off my desk before I shoot it? Now make the call, Mr. Hunt-and-Peck. (Tee)
Sherrilyn KenyonI can't. At least not for a while. I need time to get past this and I can't guarantee that I won't hurt him again. God knows, Nick has a true gift for saying the wrong thing in any given situation. (Acheron) You know he loves you, right? (Amanda) Yeah, but emotions don't have brains. (Acheron)
